​Recently, I was asked what government program funded the fiber-to-home internet project on the Juniata Terrace completed by One-Stop Communications. The question took me by surprise at first, but in all reality, the question made sense. Many internet service providers are choosing not to invest in expansion projects unless they are being subsidized. The big telecom and cable companies are trying to block companies like ours from accessing these funds even though they have no plans to invest in our area unless they are forced to. However, we are taking a different approach and looking to improve connectivity in our community even if we cannot use government funds!
