Man gets arrested for wearing “Give Peace a Chance” shirt. It’s little things like this that get me thinking. If we go to war, protests aren’t going to be pretty, here have a flower type of events. You’re going to have the entire gamut of emotions and opinions, from those who are protesting or supporting the war peacefully, to those who are willing to be total stupid idiots (like the security guards and police in the story above). I think that because of the emotions tied up in this, it’s going to get real messy, with real idiots acting from both ends of the spectrum.

Have a read, come back and vent.

i agree, this man was treated screwed. turkey bacon (rent-a-cops) suck ass. they’re all a bunch of wannabe’s who couldn’t cut it as real cops. as for the police, come on, i’m sure they could’ve handled that a lot better. damn piggies.

I’m as patriotic as it gets, but this man was treated unfairly. The rent-a-cop crew were probably two low IQ thugs with supposed patriotism, and the cops just had to do their job.

Well, if we do turn this country back into a “here have a flower” culture, then at least we will have some better music to protest with (i.e. Rage Against the Machine). It is things like this that happen to people that really piss me off, and those rent-a-cops should lose their job. That was totally uncalled for. I think there is something in this country called freedom of expression and wearing a t-shirt is freedom of expression.

To interject a little anti-Bush-family empire propaganda, Google the following: “The Carlyle Group”. The Bush family, James Baker, Rumsfeld, and a major portion of the Bush cadre stands to profit enormously from this or any war. They’ve already profited from the logistics and expenditure of resources moving people and hardware to prepare for war. The Carlyle Group is a global entity that buys and controls military hardware manufacturers and logistics firms. Dick Cheney’s oil companies are poised (leveraged) to profit from “rebuilding Iraq”, namely, rebuilding the oil-extracting and processing infrastructure.

Nosaj - get your facts straight.
Hinkley’s BROTHER was scheduled for a dinner with Niel Bush, whose wife had offered to introduce him to one of her female friends (or so the story goes) and the scheduled dinner was cancelled. The Hinkley FAMILY were long time friends (also in the oil business in Texas) and long time politcal backers of George HW Bush.
